The Parade of Lights is a time-honored holiday tradition brought to San Diego by the boating community. Continuing its long-standing San Diego tradition, the 54th annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights promises to dazzle and entertain bayfront crowds during 2 evenings on December 8 and December 15, 2024 and will pass along Seaport Village at approximately 7:15pm. Participants in this year's highly anticipated holiday boat parade will decorate their boats to the theme Christmas Traditions from Around the World. Be sure to stop by Seaport Fudge for their pop-up hot chocolate during the Parade of Lights!

"The Making of the Grinch" Step into animation history with Craig Kausen, Chuck Jones's grandson and CEO of Linda Jones Enterprises, as he takes you on an exclusive behind-the-scenes journey!

Through a lively multimedia presentation, Kausen will share personal stories about his grandfather’s collaboration with Ted Geisel (Dr. Seuss) to bring the beloved characters of Seuss's masterpiece to life. He'll discuss how Chuck Jones's animation genius, combined with Geisel's vision and direction, transformed the Grinch into an iconic animated film and helped shape a legacy that continues to inspire generations.

On Saturday, November 30th, 12:00pm-4:00pm

Surfin’ Santa will break out his boardshorts and favorite Hawaiian shirt to spread holiday cheer in true SoCal fashion!  Bring the whole family and be sure to arrive early to snag a spot on the boardwalk for Santa's grand entrance, as he cruises in from the San Diego Bay by watercraft and leads a festive parade to the fountain courtyard. Visitors can pose and have a free downloadable picture taken with Surfin’ Santa on his giant surfboard, riding a six-foot wave.

After Surfin’ Santa has ridden his last wave he will lead guests along the boardwalk to witness the first snowfall of the season at Malibu Farm.
