A celebration of all things pirate in honor of Talk Like a Pirate Day. We encourage young and old to throw on their best pirate attire for a day of eye patches, parrots and walking the plank!
Held Saturday, September 17 from 1 to 4 p.m., the free event features live music from the Jackstraws, San Diego’s own pirate-themed band; a “Talk Like a Pirate” and costume contest; arts and crafts; a mermaid grotto with mermaids available for photos and pirate’s booty food and drink specials from the Seaport Village eateries.
Guests are encouraged to don their finest eye patches and pirate garb, and the first 50 guests to arrive at Seaport Village in theme will receive a $10 gift certificate to use at the seaside shopping district. Landlubbers Day also includes street performances from Seaport Village’s talented buskers.
“We’re thrilled to host San Diego’s biggest International Talk Like a Pirate Day event at Seaport Village,” said Terry Hall, General Manager of Seaport Village. “We look forward to celebrating on the waterfront with local pirates of all ages in their seafaring best.”
